Show Up at the State House

The Alabama State House is open Mon–Fri, 8 AM–5 PM, and whenever the Legislature is in session. Parking near the building is extremely limited — please plan ahead.

Main Entrance

Front of the building on Union Street. Accessible entrance on the south side facing Washington Avenue.

Security

All visitors sign in and pass through screening with metal detectors and bag scanning. No weapons of any kind.

Inside

Visit the Information Desk in the main lobby. Food and drink in designated areas only — never in chambers or galleries.
